Silk cards | Silk laminated Business Cards

As part of our marketing strategy, we at Pipo track what other online printers use for their ad words headlines. One interesting headline was the use of the word "lamination" in a very deceiving way! One online printer described in their ad that they offer UV lamination!

Well, this is inaccurate and in my opinion misleading!
To clarify for print buyers so they do not get confused and order the wrong print product; UV is a coating process not a lamination. UV is either done inline or offline and is involving applying a liquid. Lamination is a true lamination process (like what you would do at home for a picture or a scrapbooking project but on a more advanced commercial way) and it involves the application of a real laminate sheet through either a heat or cold lamination process. So, to make this clear what is so called UV lamination is an inaccurate term and a more accurate term is UV coating. Lamination is water and tear proof while UV coating is not. So next time you plan on ordering a silk laminated business card, make sure you do not pick a printer that offers UV laminated Business Cards!
