What does it mean?

Card Stock

Also known as cover stock, or the short name cover. Heavyweight papers are called cards stock. The thickness of card stock is measured with point sizes such as 14pt and 16pt or with pounds (lp) such as 110lb, 120lb and 130lb. Some will also refer to 100lb gloss cover as a card stock.

16pt Gloss Coated (16pt C2S)

This is an ultra heavy card stock that is coated on both sided with a special gloss layer. AQ Coating or UV Coating are seperate options and are not effected by this. Such coating offers better ink absorption and hence artwork definition.

14pt Gloss Coated (14pt C2S)

This is amoderately heavy card stock that is coated on both sided with a special gloss layer. AQ Coating or UV Coating are seperate options and are not effected by this. Such coating offers better ink absorption and hence artwork definition.

16pt  and 14pt Matte/Dull Card Stock

A coated paper finish that is matte or flat, not as shiny like gloss coated, but still keeps much of the ink from being absorbed by the paper and produces an excellent image. Matte/ Dull finish is applied to all 14pt jobs and 16pt jobs unless it is Spot UV.

100lb Gloss Laminate

Business cards in this paper type is called Krystal cards. It involves applying a 5ml gloss laminate to a 100lb  gloss cover to produce such a great business card.

Silver Metallic Cover

Referring to a shiny silvery metallic coated card stock. A full color printing on such stock or even a gray scale tone will reveal a unique metallic looking colors you would not miss.
